Before we jump into this week’s blog featurette (yes, I totally make up a word), I have a couple of announcements that I need to share.
- Facebook has recently decided to change the way I interact with fans. If you’re a fan of Munchkin Land Designs on Facebook, make sure that when you click on the LIKE button, you select the “Show in News Feed” option. This will ensure that you stay updated on the latest news, giveaways, and discounts from Munchkin Land Designs. And as an added bonus of being a Facebook fan, you’ll always get to see the newest designs before everyone else. (Hint, hint.)
- Speaking of giveaways… Munchkin Land Designs is going to be celebrating a three year anniversary next month! 3 years! I’m still shocked that I get to call this my job. I love what I do and I’m humbled that I get to celebrate with you all! Now, I want to make this the celebration to surpass all previous celebrations. (Which won’t be too hard since there’s only been 2 before this one. Ha!) And I need YOUR help!
If you own a small business, or work from home, or whatever, and want to join in on the fun by donating a gift card, a service, or item to the giveaway, please send me an email at jenn(at)munchkinland-designs.com. In the subject line, note “Giveaway!” and I’ll include you in the group email. I already have a few fun things lined up. I’m so excited!!
And now on to the Blog of the Week and introducing someone that a lot of us know and love. Introducing…
Neely, A Complete Waste of Makeup
Explain the meaning behind the name of your blog.
A Complete Waste of Makeup is a metaphor for those days that don't go according to your plan. Those days when you get home and shrug and say "Well, that was a waste of makeup." It also kind of goes with how life is always keeping you guessing.
How long have you been blogging? Why did you start blogging?
I have been blogging around 2.5 years. I started blogging after reading so many blogs of girls just like me and thinking well I could write about my weekends and clothes too!
What do you love most blogging?
I love the friendships I've made. Recently I was out celebrating my 28th birthday and half the guests were bloggers. It was an awesome moment where I realized how much blogging had changed me and my life for the better.
What's the most surprising thing you've discovered since you began blogging?
That I'm funny. Seriously I never thought I was funny until people pointed it out in blog comments! I always thought I was not funny, hehe.
What is the one thing you want others to know about yourself, or your blog?
I want people to know that I'm a real person. I hurt, laugh, cry and love just like everyone else. Just because you read it on my blog, my personal life isn't open for ridicule.
